Lab Grown Meat
My comment on Facebook site Lab Grown Food and Cultured Meat on 6 December 2023:
We have known about the advantages of this for years now. Potentially it could feed the world, end animal farming torture and murder and kill methane emissions responsible for over 20 per cent of greenhouse gases as well.ss reclaim.pasture land for forests and wilderness.
Yet in Italy they have just passed a law banning lab meat claiming it is against tradition of "good healthy food" and is full of bad chemicals.
The truth is the opposite : lab meat is free of chemicals and hormones while farm.meat is full.of them. Tradition is no substitute for progress and lab meat would solve a huge climate issue if replacing farm meat and end an immense amount of animal suffering.
Yet the politicians and the farm lobby have got this law passed on the basis of a pack of lies and people do not know the facts.
How do we get people to see the facts and to vote for progress, specifically, to vote in favour of lab meat ? How do we get thr message across ?
TV presenter Ade Adepitan on British Channel 4 did a programme about trying to get people to give up beef or at least cut it down. Thinking about different techniques, in consultation with communications expert George Marshall, he learned how getting the right messages on posters in the right way would help people voluntarily consider the information and make progressive choices themselves.
Can we learn from all.this ? How can the fledgling lab meat industry ( apparently legal only in the USA and Singapore at present) help us get thr facts about its advantages ( and weaknesses to overcome) and rope in the communications industry to successful push for progressive cultural change on this ?

The world's population will be nearly 10 Billion by 2050. There is no other way to stop famine and/or countries going to war for food. Lab Grown/cultured food is the only solution.
